Fibreglass & Gelcoat Repairs

Fibreglass and gelcoat repairs in Auckland: chips, cracks, star fractures and impact damage repaired properly and colour-matched to blend in.

Make a repairs enquiry

Fibreglass or gelcoat damage rarely stays cosmetic. Left open, cracks and chips take on water and spread. We grind back to sound laminate, rebuild with the correct resin and glass schedule, then colour-match and refinish the gelcoat so the repair blends into the surrounding surface.

What you get

  • Repaired back to sound laminate
  • Colour-matched gelcoat finish
  • Stops water getting in and damage spreading
  • Blended and polished to match the surrounding gloss

Common signs you need this

  • Chips, gouges or impact damage on the hull
  • Star cracks or crazing in the gelcoat
  • Dock rash along rubbing strakes and topsides
  • Old repairs that no longer match

How we do it

  1. Step 1

    Assess & prepare

Damage mapped, moisture checked and the area ground back to sound laminate.

  2. Step 2

    Laminate & fill

Rebuilt with the correct resin and glass schedule, then faired to the original shape.

  3. Step 3

    Colour match & finish

Gelcoat tinted to match, applied, cut back and polished to blend with the surrounding surface.

Ideal if…

  • You've had a knock, grounding or dock impact
  • You're preparing for sale or survey
  • You want damage fixed before it spreads
  • You're already hauled out

Teak Deck Restoration & Replacement

Repairs service

Teak Deck Restoration & Replacement

Teak deck restoration in Auckland: recaulking, plug replacement and fairing to bring tired decks back, or new panels and full decks where they're needed.

Make a repairs enquiry

Teak decks wear from the caulking out. Once seams lift and plugs release, water tracks under the deck and the problem becomes structural. We measure the remaining teak thickness, then either restore the deck (raking out and recaulking seams, replacing plugs and gently fairing the surface) or replace worn panels or the full deck when there's no thickness left to work with.

What you get

  • Seam raking and marine-grade recaulking
  • Plug and fastening replacement
  • Panel or full-deck replacement options
  • Protects the substrate from water getting in

Common signs you need this

  • Caulking lifting, cracked or missing
  • Plugs popping and screw heads showing
  • Teak worn thin, cupped or splintering
  • Water tracking below deck

How we do it

  1. Step 1

    Survey & measure

Remaining teak thickness, seams and fastenings checked to decide whether to restore or replace.

  2. Step 2

    Restore or replace

Seams raked and recaulked and plugs replaced, or worn panels lifted and new teak laid and bedded.

  3. Step 3

    Fair & finish

Caulking trimmed flush, the deck lightly faired and cleaned to an even, natural finish.

Ideal if…

  • Your deck looks tired but the teak has life left
  • You have failing seams or leaks below
  • You want a staged, budgeted restoration plan
  • You're preparing for sale or charter

Got in touch with the team to work on my Rayglass 2500 which was in a bit of a sorry state. When I arrived to pick it up I was convinced that they'd swapped her in for a new model! Fantastic job from the gents on such short notice.

Our company has been working with Harry and his team, and they continue to deliver for the vessels we manage. They are able to get the job done to a high standard within our timeframes and stay within their quote. We at BoatSmart HQ highly recommend Marine Detailing Company.
